About SMILE
SMILE (Small to Medium Italian League of Enterprises) is an initiative driven by the Italian-South African Chamber of Trade and Industries for the Italian-South African business community. Its aim is to bring all Italian businesses and professionals into a common network.
Over the past two years, the names and details of Italian enterprises in South Africa have been collated into a single database, forming the most complete list of Italian-South African business anywhere, ever.
SMILE is an initiative that originated when Comites Johannesburg commissioned the Italian South African Chamber of Trade and Industries as the project manager. Since then the Chamber has expanded the project to the rest of South Africa, having held a second launch in Cape Town.
SMILE is aimed at including:
- Companies in SA with Headquarters in Italy
- Company Owners and independent Professionals of Italian origin
- Importers of Italian Products
- South Africans with Business interests in Italy

1. Increase the linkages between Italian enterprises
2. Deliver benefit to Italian enterprise
3. Achieve Buy-In from the Majority of Italian-South African Community
