Job Title: Events Manager
Location: Johannesburg
Salary: R200 000 – R300 000 anually based on experience
Job Overview:
The Events Manager will be responsible for the comprehensive planning, coordination, and execution of international summits and corporate events across the African continent, with a focus on delivering exceptional experiences for participants. The role includes managing high-level meetings involving political, institutional, and business stakeholders, coordinating activities between the Johannesburg and Italian offices, and overseeing logistical, financial, and administrative aspects of events.
Key Responsibilities:
• Management of the entire organizational process of International Summits on the African continent.
• Coordinating the development of corporate services and activities between the Italian office and the office in Johannesburg.
• Organization of meetings of CEO Community- African Chapter with political-institutional and business personalities at national and regional levels.
• Continuous updating of the database.
• Managing the agenda of the head of the African Affairs Area.
1. Event Planning
• Contact with the venue and IT service
• Organisation of the gala dinner
2. Budgeting and Financial Management
• Source and negotiate contracts with vendors, suppliers, and venues to secure the best deals.
• Monitor and track expenses to ensure adherence to the budget, bookkeeping, administrative tasks.
3. Logistics and Coordination
• Scout, book, and coordinate event venues based on requirements.
• Oversee vendor selection and contract management, including catering, audiovisual, décor, entertainment, and transportation services.
• Ensure all necessary permits and insurance requirements are met.
• Manage the participations of the event.
4. Event Execution
• Supervise on-site event setup, execution, and breakdown to ensure everything runs smoothly.
• Coordinate and manage event staff and third-party vendors.
• Troubleshoot any issues that arise during the event.
5. Post-Event Evaluation
• Gather and analyse feedback from attendees.
Working Conditions:
• Flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, depending on event schedules.
• On-site presence required during events, with occasional travel for venue scouting or meetings.
• On days when there are no events, activities will be carried out in the office with the possibility of one day working remotely.
Qualifications:
• Educational Background: Preferably degree in Event Management, Marketing, Hospitality, or a related field.
• Experience: More than 10 years of proven track record in managing events of various scales and types and administration.
